Resilience in the Shadows

from $167.07

“In the heart of Buffalo's diverse landscape, the black community stood resilient, carving out its place amidst the immigrant experience. A community of 704 black residents, dispersed across 148 families, found solace in a unique establishment known as Dug's Dive, nestled near the Commercial slip. This subterranean saloon, founded by William Douglas, was a haven for African Americans seeking camaraderie and community amidst the challenges of their time.”
