Inspired by Dick Gregory's book Callus On My Soul (2000). Whenever you have constant friction on your hands or feet you'll develop a callus. Overtime from lack of oxygen the callus will begin to hurt so you shave it down to soothe that pain.
The repeated irritation the subject experiences from society, his family and community has turned his callus into a hardened prison that he must cut down in order for that society, family and community can experience the gifts he has to offer.
